These violas are new to the farm this year, and Emily is very excited to see how they grow. Violas naturally have short stems, so a bit of pinching and regular trimming will help encourage longer stems over time — plus the flowers are edible, making them just as fun to use in the kitchen as they are in arrangements.

  • Light: Full sun to part shade

  • How to start: Start indoors

  • Start indoors: 7–9 weeks before last frost

  • Planting: Cover lightly with soil (about 3 mm / ⅛ in)

  • Estimated Days to Maturity (from transplant): 60–70 days

  • Estimated vase life: 5–7 days

Approximate Seeds per Packet: 20

These seeds are originally from Johnny's Seeds.  They were not produced here at the farm.  These are the same seeds we plant to produce our 2-acre flower field.  As I always order extra, I have repackaged the seeds into smaller quantities to allow you the opportunity to grow them, too (as not everyone needs 1000 seeds!).
